Jean-François was a well-known market gardener in the commune of Quévy for his Potager des Délices. He had celebrated his birthday two days earlier, but his eldest son, Valentin, who is also the father of Camille, Amandine and Noé, was not present at his side during his last moments.

“He had a good time with my little brother. They had played football in the village square. They had fun. Then they went for pizza. He really liked this dish. He asked for the bill and his heart stopped. He died accompanied by a person he loved,” according to his testimony to Sud Info.

The future of Jean-François’ vegetable garden uncertain

Valentin expresses great sadness following the loss of his father, and he never ceases to praise his qualities.

“He was an exceptional dad. He gave lots of love and wanted us to be as happy as possible. He is someone who loved people. He didn’t take himself seriously. He knew how to make people laugh. He was always trying to find something to make people happy,” he points out.

However, he emphasizes that the future of his Potager des Délices is currently uncertain. He continues with:

“I am the eldest and I am only 16 years old. It’s not really a priority right now. »

The Farmer’s Funeral will take place at the Saint-Martin de Hornu church, this Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11 a.m. Followed by a burial in the strictest privacy. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that this large farming family is affected by a death. Last June, Jean-Claude Joly, who was a candidate in the French version, ended his life. This dairy producer from Normandy had left his partner and their daughter Charlotte behind. Karine Le Marchand wanted to pay tribute to him on Instagram.
