Those unfamiliar with the MCU might recall Claire Temple, a prominent nurse figure in the Daredevil narrative closely linked to Charlie Cox’s character, Matt Murdock. Temple gained significant popularity following her debut in Daredevil, later gracing screens in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.

Dawson’s response to the rumors? She’s currently not slated to reappear in the revived series. “People keep asking me about Daredevil: Born Again,” Dawson remarked. “I tell them the same thing: Disney knows how to reach me.” The answer, while laced with playful undertones, also has an air of uncertainty. Could this be her way of keeping the intrigue alive or is she genuinely out of the loop?

The Disney-owned Marvel Studios, the powerhouse behind the revival, has maintained a tight-lipped stance on Claire Temple’s involvement. Even if Temple does make a comeback, it’s far from confirmed that Dawson would be reprising the role. Marvel’s lineup sees Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising their memorable characters. Yet, a few from the original ensemble, like Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), might not experience the same encore. She recently indicated a lack of plans for her character’s return.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding her involvement in the new series, Dawson emphasized her gratitude for her time with Marvel, expressing no resentment about Daredevil: Born Again. On the other hand, not everyone associated with the original Netflix series shares Dawson’s sanguine attitude.

Chris Brewster, Charlie Cox’s stunt double in the original Daredevil, voiced his discontent with Marvel Studios. Cox had reportedly made several attempts to get Brewster on board for the revival, but the studio remained unyielding. Brewster didn’t hold back on his criticisms either. Referring to Daredevil’s animated segments in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Brewster commented on how the series has lost its authentic feel. Brewster lamented,

“If you watch She-Hulk, they turned Daredevil into a cartoon. It’s all animated and it looks bad. You know, I love CG to enhance real movement, but if you don’t have any real movement, it just becomes a cartoon. It’s just CG and there’s no weight to it, and what always made the action on Daredevil so good is it was visceral.”

Just recently, D’Onofrio, famed for his portrayal of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Netflix’s Daredevil, addresses fans’ concerns over the character’s depiction in the upcoming sequel, Daredevil: Born Again. With rumors suggesting significant deviations from the original series, fans are wary. Responding to apprehensions on Twitter, D’Onofrio simply advised, “Patience. Patience…” He previously hinted at a violence level akin to the Netflix series. However, the portrayal of Kingpin in MCU’s Hawkeye, showcasing superhuman feats, contrasts with the more grounded character from Daredevil, further fueling fans’ anxieties.

For eager fans, Daredevil: Born Again will be making its grand debut on Disney+ in 2024 and is set to captivate audiences over an 18-episode span.
